SATURDAY, AUGUST 31st AKA THE “BIG KAHUNA”

11 am: Purdue football takes the field and smashes Indiana State in historic win, gets propelled into the Top 25 rankings immediately. Prediction: Purdue wins by 21.

2:30 pm: #4 Texas whoop Colorado State in emphatic fashion to begin their inaugural SEC season (Rainey Street, Little Woodrow’s on West 6th, Lavaca St. Bar would all be fun areas to catch the game) Prediction: Texas wins by 49.

5:00 pm: Guests arrive to The Fairmont

5:30 pm: Ceremony Starts in the Congressional Ballroom (3rd Floor of The Fairmont). You can take the elevators or escalators from the lobby.

5:33 pm: Late guests arrive

6:00 pm: Cocktail Hour begins in the foyer of the Manchester Ballroom (7th Floor of The Fairmont). You can take the elevators or the escalators from the 3rd to the 7th floor.

6:30 pm: #20 Texas A&M takes on #7 Notre Dame (Rudy still sucks) where America learns that Notre Dame, like all seasons, is way overrated entering week 1. If you meet Alison’s boss, Matt (huge A&M fan), at some point throughout the night please send him a drink for missing this game (he might be crying either way).

7:00 pm: Reception begins in the Manchester Ballroom (7th Floor of the Fairmont)

SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 1st

9:30 am-ish: We plan to have brunch at Revue (downstairs at the Fairmont). Feel free to pop in, say hi or goodbye if you’ve gotta run, grab a coffee, reminisce, all the things, etc.

PLEASE NOTE WITH THE AUSTIN AIRPORT WHEN TRAVELING HOME: They’ve been doing construction at the airport and have consolidated their PreCheck and Clear fast-track screenings to one checkpoint. When I was there last weekend, it appeared a second one may have opened, but just be mindful and maybe give yourself some extra time.
