This is where the wedding ceremony and reception will be held. EVERYTHING on the wedding day will be INSIDE at the Fairmont (A/C was our one “non-negotiable”). Rest assured, it will be hot as Hades in August, but there is peace of mind you wouldn’t have to leave the beloved air conditioning if you opt to stay here.

PLEASE NOTE: Texas plays AT HOME (this is their season opener in football….book early)
Wanna book a day at Austin’s largest rooftop pool, but decided to stay somewhere else? No problem, book a pool pass at www.ResortPass.com!
Some super cute places! I’d recommend these neighborhoods: Zilker, Bouldin Creek, Travis Heights, Clarksville, Westlake Hills, Tarrytown, Old West Austin. (Green on the map. Safest, most Austin-y) If you’re looking for maybe a bit better deal in more of a trendy “up and coming” neighborhoods, you can check out some places on the East Side (can be hit or miss, Orange on the map)
Map key: green=great area to book
yellow= still decent area for Airbnbs. NOTE: this map is designed for Airbnbs ONLY since there are some excellent hotels (that I’d mark green for hotels) in this yellow downtown area.
orange=can be hit or miss-**hate this description**, but in the process of being gentrified (some good pockets), save some $$
blue=where the Fairmont is
red=I would suggest avoiding the “Red River district” north of 4th street along Red River Street up to MLK. Also extends along the 35 corridor. There is a shelter nearby and unfortunately our state and city officials don’t do enough to help the houseless population in this city.
purple=Austin airport
note: Historically, August Texas weather is hot as a toaster. May I suggest, it might be a good idea to book an option with a pool.

A 2-minute walk away from where the ceremony and reception will be. In the heart of the Rainey Street district, this hotel also happened to be in our top 3 for venues. Very trendy, Austin-y hotel.
Probably the most wallet-friendly hotel (that’s still nice) near/in the downtown area. Still a killer location, easy to get around. Along the trail and next to the flagship Yeti store.
Trendy hotel right in the middle of South Congress. This area/neighborhood is what Austin is known for. Tucked behind a lively area of restaurants and shopping.
Keep Austin Weird is the saying. This quirky, no-frills motel is perfect for those wanting a little nostalgic taste of the days past. Killer location right in the middle of South Congress.
Trendy, minimalistic hotel right by the Hike and Bike Trail.
Looks retro, but actually built in 2015 to reflect the trendy neighborhood. A couple good restaurants (Otoko, Maie Day, Cafe No Se) and a coffee shop (Manana) on the main floor. South Congress=killer location.
Boutique hotel right on South Congress. A fun little alternative.
New, bougee 5-star South Austin hotel. If you don’t want to sell your first born to afford to stay here, at least stop by and grab a drink at Nido (their rooftop bar/restaurant). Book a reservation in advance for Nido if you want to go.
